Painting

House painting, both interior and exterior, provides two primary functions.

1. To protect the surface it’s covering.
2. To make that surface appealing to the eye.

If the surface isn’t properly prepared, and the proper paint isn’t applied, the surface will not be protected as well as it could, nor look as good as it should.

With exterior painting other factors come into play. Why is the paint peeling? Is there wood rot or mildew? Are there improperly pitched gutters? Is water vapor penetrating through the house because of inadequate venting?
